Electric Alfieri ?

Now this is definitely catching my attention. I'm hoping for a hybrid setup though, that involves a turbo engine, as well as utilizing electric motors if this is the case...

Quote:
Maserati’s beautiful Alfieri concept is being considered for an electric version. Sergio Marchionne, the Chief Executive Officer of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group, has stated his views on the future electric vehicles of the corporation, and the Maserati name has come into the discussion. Along with the potential electric Maserati, FCA will also launch a small city car with electric drive.

It's very possible since that's where the market is going and the Alfieri is going to be a new vehicle coming out in a couple years. Going electric will position it well for the next 7-8 years of its life.

They just better make sure that everything else is up to par, handling, suspension, etc. Maserati has been lacking and they need a refreshing change, this could be it.

See that's what I find weird. Maserati went and tried the whole "big" engine thing, but fell short everywhere else. It's like they wanted to hit that luxury-performance segment, but gave up half way and said well.. that's all we're gonna push for

Fortunately they're at a stage where currently 1/2 the line up is new and with that they're part of FCA, so it presents some new opportunities to bring something new to the market and still offer all people expect out of Maserati.

Just have to see where else from FCA they can pull parts and components.

The power from Dodge, use some cues from the interior of the new Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio or whatever it's called ?

The whole QV approach is something I can imagine being a standard much like how other brands do it and just by observing that you can already see how it comes together. It just depends on which model they want to include QV on.

Standard as in standard practice, not just something limited to one model, which is the Giulia, even if that means a trim that features some of what the QV model does.

Just got some new info, the Maserati Alfieri EV will be scheduled for a 2018 launch and people will be receiving them come 2019. Got this from Nashville Chatter Class
Quote:
The 2+2 concept car is going to become all-electric in the near future. While the company aims to showcase the prototype at one of the top auto expos by 2018, it won’t reach customers until 2019. The time is required to build next generation battery and powerful electric motors, confirmed the head of Maserati. The idea is to compete against the most popular electric car manufacturer, Tesla.

An electric Alfieri seems more and more likely because Maserati may be planning to launch all 2019 and beyond vehicles as hybrid or all-electrics. It's safe to assume that the upcoming Alfieri will get an electric motor.
